The role of the Front Desk Agent at Hotel Saint Louis is pivotal in ensuring guests receive a warm, professional, and courteous welcome throughout their stay. The Front Desk Agent is responsible for greeting guests upon arrival, verifying reservations and payment methods while promoting the hotel's preferred guest program. They manage guest accounts efficiently, including payment processing, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring the security of keys and safety deposit boxes. In addition, Front Desk Agents resolve guest complaints positively, assist with luggage and transportation services when applicable, and provide knowledgeable recommendations about the local area and hotel amenities. The role requires adherence to company policies and standard operating procedures, including those related to health and safety, cash handling, and guest privacy.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience with Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Wyndham, or Hyatt standards
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the primary workplace language
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written
  • Basic math and computer competency
  • Knowledge of hotel services and local area
  • Ability to stand and move for extended periods
  • Capacity to lift up to 15 lbs occasionally
  • Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks
  • Flexibility to work various shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Job Duties

  • Greet and welcome guests upon arrival
  • Register guests, verifying reservations and payment information
  • Promote the preferred guest program and recognize current members
  • Accept payment for guest accounts and maintain accurate daily reports
  • Issue keys and control access to safety deposit boxes
  • Respond promptly and resolve guest complaints

  • Assist guests with luggage and transportation services if applicable

  • Handle messages, wake-up calls, mail, and guest requests
