The position available is for a Food Services Assistant at the Rio Salado College Cafe. This is a part-time and temporary role, offering an hourly wage between $16.00 and $18.00, depending on experience. The work schedule primarily consists of weekday shifts with up to 19.5 hours per week, and this position does not qualify for employee benefits. The Food Services Assistant plays an essential role in ensuring high-quality food preparation and delivering excellent customer service to students, staff, and community members. This role requires adherence to strict health and safety standards and involves both food preparation and catering support duties.
Food Services Assistants at Rio Salado Cafe are responsible for preparing meals for breakfast and lunch, supporting catering events, and maintaining a clean and safe food service environment that exceeds health department standards. Candidates will engage in a variety of tasks including food preparation, serving customers, cleaning, inventory tracking, and delivering or picking up catering orders. This position demands teamwork, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to maintaining hygiene protocols.
Ideal candidates for this role will have prior experience in food and beverage settings, a track record of providing exceptional customer service, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Physical capability to lift up to 20 pounds as well as compliance with local regulations such as holding or obtaining a valid food handler's card within 30 days of hire is required. Additionally, all applicants must successfully complete a background check prior to employment.
