Job Description

WSI Trash & Recycling Valet is a family-owned, majority women-operated company founded in Utah in 2010. As an industry pioneer in valet trash and recycling services, WSI provides exceptional waste management solutions primarily for apartment communities across Utah, Nevada, and Idaho. The company takes pride in its dedicated porters who serve as the backbone of daily operations. At WSI, the focus is on delivering quality service while valuing and supporting the people who maintain and care for its communities. Recognized for innovation and commitment to client satisfaction, WSI is continuing to expand its footprint within the property services sector.

The role offered is a part-time Floating Trash and Recycling Porter position based in the Nampa area. This job is ideal for individuals seeking short evening shifts that fit comfortably around other commitments such as a full-time job, school, or family responsibilities. Working hours typically run between 1 to 3 hours per evening starting after 6:00 PM, with no work required on weekends and a guaranteed shift every Monday evening. The schedule is designed to be highly predictable and low-commitment while allowing flexibility for those who want to increase their hours by covering shifts when other team members take time off or call out unexpectedly.

This role involves walking assigned apartment communities to collect bagged trash, recycling, and cardboard from residents’ doors, and transporting the waste to designated dumpsters, chutes, or compactors. Porters separate recycling materials, inspect for contamination, document their route with photos, leave courtesy notices as necessary, and ensure the property is free of loose trash around dumpsters and common areas. The job requires a moderate level of physical activity including extensive walking, climbing stairs, and lifting items up to 50 lbs. It is outdoors and subject to weather conditions.

Employees will receive $18 per hour, with added mileage reimbursement based on IRS rates when traveling from the main office to work sites. Certain sites that require the use of a personal open-bed pickup truck offer a higher pay rate. No experience is necessary for this position as comprehensive training is provided. WSI values reliability and performance, offering floaters priority consideration for permanent, regularly scheduled routes.

Ideal candidates must be at least 18 years old, possess a valid Idaho driver’s license, and have active auto insurance. They should also have a smartphone capable of running a mobile app that they will use to check in and out of shifts and provide route documentation. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States, able to perform the physical duties of the role, and willing to undergo a background check. WSI evaluates prior convictions on a case-by-case basis.

WSI Trash & Recycling Valet is an equal opportunity employer committed to inclusive hiring and non-discriminatory employment practices. They welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds and ensure fair consideration regardless of race, color, religion, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, disability, status as a veteran, or other characteristics. The company is growing and invites job seekers interested in earning supplemental income through a flexible, evening shift to apply. The role is suited for students, caregivers, retirees, and anyone looking for a physical, independent, and rewarding part-time opportunity in the Treasure Valley area.
