Job Description
Strategic Analysis, Inc. (SA) is a renowned professional services company specializing in delivering high-quality support and innovative solutions for government clients, particularly within the Department of Defense's scientific research and development sector. With a commitment to excellence, SA offers a broad array of services including conference and event management, which are designed to meet the stringent requirements and protocols of federal government operations. The company prides itself on fostering a collaborative and flexible work environment where employees are encouraged to grow professionally while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. SA also operates its own conference center, underscoring its dedication to providing world-class event management resources and facilities that cater specifically to government needs.
The Conference & Event Services team at Strategic Analysis, Inc. is currently seeking talented, experienced event planners to join their bench of professionals available for surge support on large-scale government events nationwide. This part-time, project-based role offers an excellent opportunity for skilled planners who thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments and are looking for flexible assignments that allow them to work on impactful projects. As a part-time event planner supporting government events, candidates can expect assignments that vary in size and complexity, involving outdoor, multi-day events with a considerable logistics scope, such as tent setups, staging, registration areas, and exhibition spaces. These events often host hundreds to thousands of in-person and remote attendees, demanding precise coordination and rigorous execution.
The role requires planners to be physically active during event setup, live execution, and teardown phases, often handling onsite logistics and performing hands-on tasks like moving materials. The work environment is often demanding, with long days and rapidly changing conditions, making adaptability and problem-solving skills essential. Planners have the chance to take on various responsibilities such as vendor and registration management, exhibit coordination, catering oversight, branding execution, shipping, logistics, and production management. This diversity in duties provides a rich, rewarding experience while contributing to public events that have significant visibility and impact.
SA’s Conference Services Division boasts a robust team of government meeting planners and coordinators who work both independently and collaboratively on large conferences and events. New team members will benefit from a supportive culture, opportunities for professional growth, and the chance to gain familiarity with high-profile government clients. Flexibility in work arrangements—including the potential for remote work, in-office days, and on-site event participation—ensures planners can balance their professional and personal commitments effectively. SA also offers potential pathways to full-time employment based on individual performance and project availability.
Candidates interested in joining this dynamic team should have a minimum of six years of event planning experience, a bachelor’s degree, proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams, and familiarity with online registration software. Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities are paramount. Additionally, candidates must demonstrate interpersonal skills and the flexibility to assume both support and leadership roles throughout the event planning lifecycle. Eligibility or possession of a U.S. government security clearance is required, reflecting the sensitive nature of government contracts and events.
Preferred qualifications include experience with outdoor events, government event planning, certifications such as Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) or Certified Government Meeting Professional (CGMP), and expertise coordinating expos, exhibit halls, and working with production vendors and speakers. Strategic Analysis, Inc. values diversity and inclusivity, adhering strictly to nondiscrimination policies in all employment practices.
