It plays a pivotal role in advancing knowledge and developing solutions that address the complex challenges of today's world through cutting-edge research programs and international partnerships. Known for fostering a supportive and inclusive community, the institution emphasizes not only academic achievement but also the professional and personal growth of its members.
Currently, the institution is looking for dedicated contract-to-hire professionals to join their event operations and audiovisual (AV) teams. This position supports a wide range of events that take place within this vibrant academic setting. As a part-time contract opportunity, the role offers approximately 20 to 25 hours per week at a competitive pay rate of $24 per hour. Ideal for individuals seeking flexible work schedules aligned with a reputable organization, this role combines technical AV responsibilities with event coordination tasks, making it multifaceted and engaging.
The position involves supporting onsite event operations by managing event setup, coordinating AV systems, and troubleshooting issues that arise with microphones, soundboards, streaming equipment, and cameras. Candidates will be expected to operate Crestron room systems and assist with virtual event platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and YouTube to ensure seamless hybrid and virtual event experiences. Additionally, this role includes responsibilities for event teardown, furniture movement, and logistical support throughout the duration of on-site events.
Effective communication and organization are crucial for maintaining event timelines and facilitating smooth collaboration among different stakeholders including event planners, technical teams, and venue staff. The role offers opportunities to develop expertise in AV technology while contributing to the successful delivery of diverse academic and community events. Candidates with prior experience in event coordination or AV support will find this position rewarding as it blends hands-on technical duties with interpersonal and organizational skills.
Working evening and weekend hours is occasionally required in this role, allowing for a comprehensive approach to event coverage. The institution values technical proficiency and familiarity with specific software such as 25Live for scheduling, Seven Point Ops for event management, and Social Tables for room layouts as a plus. Above all, the institution fosters an inclusive hiring process and encourages professionals from diverse backgrounds to apply. This contract-to-hire opportunity serves as an ideal pathway for those looking to gain valuable experience in event operations within the higher education sector, with potential for long-term employment and career growth.
