Job Description

WSI Trash & Recycling Valet is a family-owned and majority women-operated company founded in Utah in 2010. They are recognized pioneers in the valet trash and recycling services industry. WSI serves apartment communities throughout Utah, Nevada, and Idaho, offering essential waste management solutions through valet trash and recycling programs. The company places a strong emphasis on investing in their teams, fostering a culture of leadership and career development. WSI has a proven track record of promoting from within, providing employees with clear advancement opportunities into managerial and operational leadership roles.

This role is for an Evening Field Support Lead position within WSI Trash & Recycling Valet, based in the Mid-Salt Lake Valley area. This part-time, hourly role offers a competitive pay rate ranging from $20 to $25 per hour, depending on the assignment and site requirements, with typical weekly hours between 15 and 20. Work schedules are Monday through Friday evenings only, which allows for a work-life balance with no weekend shifts. Shifts generally start around 5:30 PM and last between 3 to 5 hours, meaning most nights are finished by 11 PM.

The Evening Field Support Lead oversees nightly trash and recycling valet routes across apartment communities. The main responsibility is to monitor operations on-site, provide support to Valet Porters as needed, and step in to perform collection duties to ensure smooth and effective service. Responsibilities include collecting bagged trash, recycling, and cardboard from residents' doors and transporting these materials to dumpsters, chutes, or compactors. The role also involves inspecting recycling for contamination, ensuring proper separation of materials, and documenting the route using a mobile app with tasks such as checking in/out, issuing courtesy compliance notices, and uploading photos. Additionally, the Lead assists with cleaning up loose trash around dumpsters and compactor areas, supporting team training, conducting quality audits, and occasionally managing pet waste stations.

Physical activity is a key aspect of this position as it involves extensive walking through apartment communities, climbing stairs at some properties, and lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds. The work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions, and some assignments may require the use of a personal open-bed pickup truck. Candidates must be reliable, professional, and self-motivated, with a valid Utah driver's license, current auto insurance, and a smartphone with an active data plan and location services enabled.

WSI values candidates who are at least 18 years old, can speak, read, and write English, and are willing to travel across Northern Salt Lake Valley, Weber County, and Cache County. While prior experience in valet trash, porter, or field operations is a plus, it is not required, as comprehensive training is provided. The company prides itself on creating a welcoming, supportive work environment with real leadership opportunities and a direct pathway to management roles.

WSI Trash & Recycling Valet is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion. They ensure that all qualified applicants receive consideration regardless of race, color, religion, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability, age, or veteran status. Applicants are encouraged to apply promptly as positions are reviewed on a rolling basis. This opportunity is ideal for individuals seeking part-time evening work with consistent hours, competitive pay, and the chance to grow their careers in waste management and community services.
