The Auction Vehicle Handler is tasked with driving vehicles through auction lanes during designated sale days, helping facilitate smooth and secure vehicle flow, which is key to successful auction events.
Key responsibilities of the role include safely driving vehicles to and from various locations including auction lots and customer dealerships, staging vehicles in proper sequences as directed by supervisors, and locating misplaced vehicles efficiently. The handler will also be expected to assist in minor vehicle maintenance tasks such as inflating tires and jump-starting vehicles using provided equipment. This role requires adherence to strict safety and health procedures to maintain a safe working environment for all employees and customers.
Candidates selected for this position will be playing an essential role in ensuring that the auction process runs without delays or incidents. They will be expected to demonstrate courteous and defensive driving skills, work collaboratively with team members and customers, and participate actively in the company’s safety programs. Overtime work may be required during peak business periods.

Job Requirements
- Valid driver's license
- ability to safely drive vehicles with both standard and automatic transmissions
- capability to frequently enter and exit vehicles
- physical ability to sit for long periods
- able to walk extensive distances
- required to stand, walk, reach, talk, and hear regularly
- able to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat, and climb frequently
- able to lift weights between 1 and 15 pounds
- vision including close, distance and color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment ability

- high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- previous auction experience preferred
Job Duties
- Drive vehicles through auction lanes on sale day in a safe manner
- drive vehicles to and from designated areas on auction premises and to customer dealerships and businesses while observing driving rules and demonstrating defensive driving principles
- line up and park vehicles in the correct order as directed by supervisor or team leader
- move vehicles as necessary and locate lost vehicles
- assist with getting vehicles operating by inflating tires and jump-starting vehicles as needed
- notify supervisor regarding inoperative vehicles and notify service or gas truck driver when vehicles are out of gas
- assist customers and coworkers as needed
- visibly demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures
- perform other duties as assigned by management
- may be required to work overtime as business needs dictate
