As a reputable company, Cox Automotive is committed to creating safe, efficient, and customer-focused automotive environments. They emphasize safety, professionalism, and quality service across all operations, ensuring a positive experience for employees and clients alike.
The role of Vehicle Mover at Cox Automotive plays a crucial part in maintaining the smooth flow of vehicles during auction events and on the auction premises. This position requires responsibility for the safe moving, staging, and parking of vehicles within the auction property, as well as driving vehicles between auction lots and customer locations. The Vehicle Mover must adhere strictly to the companys safety rules and regulations to maintain a secure work environment. This role is designed primarily as a part-time position, with shifts from Monday to Friday between 9 am and 3 pm, totaling a maximum of 29 hours per week. The position offers an hourly wage of $13.75, and employees may be eligible for additional compensation, including commissions and incentive programs.
In this role, employees are entrusted with driving vehicles safely through auction sale lanes on designated sale days, ensuring all movements comply with established safety standards and courteous driving principles. The Vehicle Mover is also responsible for lining up vehicles in proper order as directed by supervisors, parking vehicles efficiently, and locating any misplaced vehicles. Assistance in operational vehicle readiness includes inflating tires and jump-starting vehicles as necessary. Collaboration with customers, dealers, and team members is essential, emphasizing professional and courteous interactions.
Safety commitment is paramount, with employees expected to adhere to all health and safety procedures, actively participating in safety initiatives and modeling appropriate behaviors. This role also requires physical activity, including walking long distances and frequent entering and exiting of vehicles. The Vehicle Mover position offers a dynamic work environment that involves both indoor and outdoor activities, exposed to moderate noise levels and varying weather conditions. Candidates with high school diplomas, the ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmissions, and prior auction experience are preferred, although not mandatory.
Overall, the Vehicle Mover position at Cox Automotive is ideal for individuals who are safety-minded, dependable, physically capable of handling the job's demands, and looking for part-time work within a leading automotive services company. This role fosters teamwork, efficiency, and safety while creating opportunities for additional earnings through commission and incentive programs.
