Job Description
Valet Living is a prominent service provider dedicated to enhancing the cleanliness, safety, and comfort of apartment communities across the United States. As a company specializing in doorstep trash collection and recycling services, Valet Living operates with a mission to create cleaner living environments for residents while offering flexible employment opportunities for individuals seeking steady, part-time work. Valet Living's innovative approach streamlines waste collection by serving apartment communities locally, reducing the need for long-distance travel and ensuring a convenient, community-focused experience for both employees and residents. The company values diversity and equal opportunity, providing a workplace where employees can grow and thrive regardless of their background. Valet Living offers a supportive atmosphere where hardworking individuals can contribute to maintaining the aesthetics and hygiene of apartment complexes through reliable and consistent doorstep trash and recycling collection services.
The role of a Doorstep Trash Collection Specialist, also known as a Service Valet, with Valet Living is a part-time evening position tailored for those looking for consistent hours and additional income close to their homes. This position primarily involves collecting bagged trash and cardboard recycling from apartment doorsteps and transporting the waste to on-site compactors. Uniquely, this job requires the use of the employee's personal open-bed pickup truck or a vehicle equipped with a trailer, ensuring efficient and local service without the hassle of off-site dumping or bulk item collection. The role emphasizes working within a limited geographic area, servicing one or more nearby apartment communities to reduce travel time and increase efficiency. Typically, shifts occur Sunday through Thursday evenings, starting after 7:00 or 8:00 PM, allowing employees to maintain flexibility for other daytime commitments such as a full-time job, school, or family responsibilities.
Service Valets play an essential role in the upkeep of apartment communities by ensuring that residents’ bagged trash and recycling are collected promptly, maintaining clean and welcoming surroundings by morning. The job requires physical activity, including walking long distances, climbing stairs, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions, appealing to individuals who prefer staying active rather than sedentary work environments. Employees use a mobile app for check-ins, tracking their work, and taking photos when needed, integrating technology to enhance work efficiency and communication. The position offers a competitive hourly rate, with truck operators earning $20 per hour and helpers earning $18 per hour. The job is designed to provide a steady, reliable income with consistent shifts during the week, eliminating weekend work for more predictable scheduling.
Valet Living supports its employees with fast pay through DailyPay, the potential for referral bonuses, and opportunities for career growth since many leadership positions are filled by internal promotions. Safety equipment such as gloves and vests is provided, highlighting the company’s commitment to creating a safe working environment. Overall, this role is ideal for individuals seeking supplemental earnings with the convenience of working locally, maintaining flexibility, and contributing positively to their community's living environment.
