Within the University's Operations, Events, and Safety (UOES) division, encompassing event management, hospitality, and customer service, there is a current opening for a part-time Dish Crew Steward at Rohr's in the Hospitality department. This role is integral to maintaining the high standards of cleanliness, safety, and operational excellence that support the University's food production and service. The Dish Crew Steward plays a crucial role in ensuring the seamless functioning of back-of-house operations by handling the cleaning of tableware and kitchen equipment, operating dish machines, and managing waste efficiently. Job Duties

  • Foster a culture of safety and ensure a safe working environment for all staff and guests
  • lead and assist with cleaning all tableware and kitchen equipment
  • support dish room operations, including setup, organization and cleaning
  • operate the dish machine, ensuring proper sorting of trays, glass, utensils, carts and equipment
  • maintain cleanliness and care of kitchen equipment
  • manage waste, emptying all trash, cardboard and recycling containers
  • collaborate effectively with the dish team on a daily basis
  • assist in the reorganization of all kitchen and event serviceware to maintain efficiency and readiness for items to be used again
  • assist with logistics, including loading/unloading trucks and breaking down carts
