The role offered is that of a Deli Team Member at a GIANT store located in St Davids, PA. This position centers around managing deli products with precision and care. Team members are entrusted with receiving, processing, preparing, wrapping, slicing, weighing, marking, packaging, and stocking deli products while ensuring that the shelves, cases, and displays are clean, neat, attractive, and well-organized. Emphasis is placed on maintaining product safety and quality by adhering to federal, state, and local regulations specifically related to deli operations. This hands-on role requires the ability to work with various deli equipment safely, maintain cooler and preparation areas to required standards, and deliver excellent customer service by answering questions, making recommendations, and promoting products through suggestive selling.

Job Requirements

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must be able to communicate and understand company policies and safety regulations to complete job duties satisfactorily
  • Must meet the ergonomic and physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Must be able to use or learn to use equipment and tools used to perform this job
  • Shift hours minimum 4-hour shifts or more depending on business needs
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must stand 55 percent and walk 45 percent of the shift
  • Must follow safety protocols including wearing personal protective equipment
  • Must complete required training including Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space, and Right to Know trainings

Job Duties

  • Provide quality customer service to customers, co-workers, vendors, and business associates
  • Receive, process, prepare, wrap, slice, weigh, mark, and package deli products
  • Maintain proper shelf, case, and display conditions including stocking, cleaning, straightening, and rotating products
  • Maintain cooler conditions with coding, rotating, organizing, and cleaning cases of products
  • Clean and sanitize prep area surfaces, utensils, and equipment
  • Adhere to all federal, state, and local deli regulations
  • Maintain safe and clean sales floor conditions including sweeping and mopping
  • Answer customer questions, make product recommendations, and engage in suggestive selling
  • Dress according to company policy and maintain neat appearance
  • Complete required ELM training courses as available
