The current opening for a Part-time Day Porter position—a Custodian/CSR role—is an excellent opportunity for people with a dedication to exceptional customer satisfaction and collaboration. This role requires strong customer service skills and the ability to work effectively with fellow team members. The custodian/CSR will be expected to work Saturday through Monday from 7 am to 3:30 pm, providing cleaning and maintenance support that keeps the facilities shining. Responsibilities include floor care such as vacuuming and mopping, surface cleaning, waste removal, light maintenance duties, and adhering to safety protocols. The position emphasizes clear communication, proper use of personal protective equipment, and professional conduct at all times. This role also involves supporting janitorial staff, restocking supply rooms, organizing storage areas, and maintaining a welcoming environment in lobbies and conference rooms. The custodian/CSR is not only expected to perform physical cleaning tasks but also engage with co-workers and customers following company protocols and safety guidelines.

  • ability to read two to three syllable words and recognize similarities and differences between words and series of numbers
  • ability to print clearly and speak simple sentences
  • ability to communicate effectively with co-workers supervisors managers and customers
  • know how to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with tens and hundreds
  • know the American measures of money weight size length shapes distance and measures such as cups pints quarts gallons etc
  • required to have a valid driver’s license if driving own vehicle or company vehicle on business time and proof of vehicle registration and insurance
  • bilingual is a plus not required

Job Duties

  • floor care including vacuuming and mopping and carpet spotting
  • surface care such as dusting sanitizing and cleaning glass mirrors and windows and polishing metal and wood surfaces and cleaning blinds and draperies
  • waste removal including emptying trash and recycle bins and transporting waste to proper disposal areas
  • light maintenance tasks like replacing light bulbs and restocking supply cabinets and rooms
  • complying with safety rules policies and procedures and stopping at-risk behavior of self and others
  • following all protocols company procedures policies and rules
  • taking direction and responding to supervision
  • using proper personal protective equipment
  • presenting a professional appearance and conduct
  • understanding reporting systems and environment
  • transporting small equipment tools chairs and tables and straightening areas such as lobbies and conference rooms
  • assisting janitorial staff with restocking restrooms and break rooms and performing light cleaning tasks in between events
