This part-time Cashier/Customer Service Associate role at Harris Teeter involves a variety of responsibilities dedicated to ensuring each customer's needs are met and their expectations exceeded during every visit. The primary responsibility of this position is to take excellent care of customers by accurately and efficiently operating the cash register, providing various services at the customer service counter, and maintaining security and control of all funds. This role also encompasses duties such as floor monitoring when no specific floor monitor is assigned and assisting as a bagger when appropriate. This role demands physical stamina, as employees will be required to stand, walk, use their hands, reach, talk, and hear regularly. Occasionally, they might need to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch and lift or move items weighing up to 40 pounds. The work environment occasionally exposes employees to wet or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles, and extreme cold, though the noise level is generally moderate.

Job Requirements
- Be at least 16 years of age
- Complete company training including new hire orientation, customer service network, safety, customer service clerk technical skills, floor monitor technical skills
- Ability to stand and walk regularly
- Ability to use hands, fingers, handle, or feel items
- Ability to reach with hands and arms
- Ability to talk or hear
- Ability to smell
- Occasionally able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and reach from 6 to 48 inches
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and reach from 6 to 72 inches
- Have specific vision abilities including close vision, color and depth perception
Job Qualifications
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English
- Ability to write simple correspondence in English
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations in English
- Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and calculate discount percentage amounts
- Ability to perform operations using units of American currency
- Willingness to participate in and successfully complete required training programs
- Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables
Job Duties
- Take excellent care of customers by satisfying each customer's needs and exceeding their expectations
- Accurately and efficiently operate the cash register
