This part-time position as a Customer Service Associate at Harris Teeter plays a pivotal role in maintaining the store's excellent customer service standards. The primary responsibility of this role is to take excellent care of customers by satisfying each customer's needs, exceeding their expectations, and ensuring every shopping visit is a pleasant and satisfying experience. The associate will manage various tasks including operating the cash register accurately and efficiently, providing services at the customer service counter, and maintaining the security and control of all funds. In addition, the associate may perform duties as a floor monitor when one is not assigned, and may also serve as the on-duty floor monitor when required. The role also involves performing cashier and bagger duties as needed. This position requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a willingness to participate in training, and the ability to work as part of a team to increase customer satisfaction and sales.

Applicants must be at least 16 years of age. The role demands physical activity such as standing, walking, using hands to handle merchandise, and occasionally lifting up to 40 pounds. The work environment may involve exposure to wet or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and temperature extremes. Harris Teeter offers compensation ranging from $15.35 to $22.00 per hour for this position, depending on the applicant's previous experience and skill set. Job Requirements

  • At least 16 years of age
  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • ability to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel objects
  • ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 40 pounds occasionally
  • ability to reach from 6 to 72 inches
  • willingness to work part-time hours
  • normal color vision and depth perception
  • ability to tolerate wet, humid conditions, and exposure to fumes or airborne particles

Job Qualifications

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English
