Job Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent
a valid Maine state driver’s license is required
a minimum of 1 year of institutional cooking experience
SERVE Safe certified is a plus

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or GED equivalent
at least 1 year of institutional cooking experience
knowledge of state and federal food safety regulations
ability to establish weekly menus and manage food orders
good organizational and communication skills
SERVE Safe certification is a plus
valid Maine state driver’s license

Job Duties

Prepare dinner meals for shelter clients
keep kitchen, dining area and food storage clean, organized and in good condition
follow all state and federal food safety regulations
control and log temperatures for all equipment
stay within established budget for the food service
establish a weekly menu
obtain necessary supplies for the kitchen, including weekly ordering
attend occasional program staff meetings and appropriate trainings
perform other duties as assigned
