Job Description
Embark Hurricane is a specialized residential treatment center located in Hurricane, Utah, focused on serving highly acute adolescent boys aged 12 to 17 and their families. This program is dedicated to the stabilization and assessment of these adolescents, aiming to provide therapeutic and healing experiences through a compassionate and supportive environment. The center prides itself on its commitment to diversity, inclusivity, and the overall well-being of its clients and staff. With a mission to enrich the lives of its residents, Embark Hurricane fosters a workplace culture that values autonomy, respect, and purposeful work, ensuring every member of the team feels empowered and motivated to contribute positively.
The role of a cook at Embark Hurricane offers a unique opportunity to independently manage meal preparation for small, personalized groups within this therapeutic setting. This part-time position, offering shifts of 5 or 8 hours daily, involves preparing breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks for both clients and staff, with pay ranging from $15.00 to $20.00 per hour. As a cook here, you will have the chance to enhance your culinary skills while making a meaningful impact on the lives of adolescents undergoing treatment. The position requires not only culinary expertise but also a servant heart and a desire to provide nourishment with purpose, catering to special dietary needs and maintaining high standards of kitchen safety and cleanliness.
Working at Embark Hurricane means being part of a dedicated team that supports autonomy and independence in the kitchen. You will be responsible for overseeing food preparation, storage, and the overall orderliness of the kitchen, ensuring that all health codes and sanitation standards are met. Preparation of meals ahead of time for the following day is also a key duty, allowing for smooth and efficient operations within the program. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in an autonomous work environment and who find fulfillment in serving others through their culinary skills. Embark encourages diversity and is an equal opportunity employer, offering accommodations for applicants with disabilities and fostering a workplace inclusive of all backgrounds and identities.
