Job Description

The American Cancer Society is a nationwide voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem. Comprising a passionate workforce of employees and over 1.3 million volunteers, this nonprofit organization is committed to advancing cancer research, providing critical patient services, and promoting cancer prevention and education. Their culture is deeply rooted in diversity and inclusivity, which allows them to effectively serve a wide array of communities. The organization is dedicated to creating an environment where employees find fulfilling work that contributes to a lifesaving mission every day.

The American Cancer Society is currently seeking a Concierge to join their team. The Concierge acts as the first point of contact for guests, managing front desk operations, and ensuring a welcoming, safe, and supportive environment for all visitors. This role plays a crucial part in enhancing guest experiences by facilitating smooth check-in and check-out procedures, responding promptly to inquiries and guest needs, and assisting with transportation coordination. Additionally, the Concierge ensures security protocols are maintained and handles emergency situations with professionalism and care. Scheduled to work Thursday through Saturday from 3 pm to 11 pm, this part-time position offers a competitive hourly wage of $19.50. The salary reflects consideration of the candidate's relevant experience and skills, alongside factors such as geographic location and education.

This role requires strong communication abilities, customer service expertise, and the capacity to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced setting. The Concierge must be adaptable to working flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. The responsibilities also include maintaining an organized front desk area, managing accurate guest records, and coordinating the EMPOWER Program services and schedules. Minimal travel is required, but the job demands physical endurance, such as standing for extended periods and assisting with lifting luggage or packages. The American Cancer Society offers comprehensive benefits to its staff, including paid time off, medical and dental insurance, retirement plans, wellness programs, and professional development opportunities to foster career growth. Working with the American Cancer Society means joining a supportive team focused on impacting lives positively through the fight against cancer, while enjoying a culture of respect, engagement, and personal fulfillment.
