The role of a Beverage Server at Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants is a dynamic and meaningful position that goes beyond traditional service duties. This full-time role requires the individual to provide exceptional customer service by leveraging excellent knowledge of food and beverages, particularly wine and spirits. More than merely serving drinks and food, the Beverage Server acts as an advocate for the establishment, creating personalized and memorable experiences for guests that encourage repeat visits.
As a Beverage Server, you will be instrumental in delivering quality service during guests' visits, handling orders efficiently through the point-of-sale system, and ensuring all interactions reflect the company’s dedication to making heartfelt connections. Your duties also include maintaining cleanliness and organization of workspaces, setting up and breaking down stations such as deli, dessert, coffee, and espresso, and assisting with seating guests and handling phones as needed. Ideal candidates bring at least one year of experience in similar roles and exhibit high motivation, initiative, and excellent interpersonal communication skills. Candidates must also demonstrate basic math skills necessary for accurate billing and have certification in Food Handling and Alcohol Awareness, as applicable. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is required.

Job Requirements
- At least one year of experience in a similar or supportive role
- motivated self-starter with excellent interpersonal communication skills
- excellent knowledge of wine and spirits
- ability to handle multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- capacity to learn and communicate detailed product and menu information including allergy awareness
- basic math skills for transaction accuracy
- possession of Food Handler and Alcohol Awareness Certifications if applicable
- availability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties
- Greet and welcome guests and promptly serve food and beverages
- receive and process orders accurately and timely in the POS system
- ensure guests have outstanding experiences and address complaints immediately
- maintain cleanliness of tables, countertops, and work areas
- perform setup and breakdown of various stations including deli, dessert, coffee, and espresso
- prepare drink condiments as necessary
- assist with seating guests and answer phones as demand requires
- perform all other sidework
- take on additional responsibilities outside the job description when needed
