Job Description
Right At School is a well-established childcare organization dedicated to providing quality before and after school programs across local school districts. With a mission to inspire a love of learning, support schools, and give families peace of mind, Right At School creates safe, engaging, and educational environments for children. The company operates as a trusted partner to schools by offering extended day programs that feature disguised learning activities and daily enrichment tailored to help all students succeed. Right At School is committed to making exceptional and affordable programs accessible to numerous students, families, and schools while ensuring a safe space for children to explore, grow, and thrive.
The Program Manager role at Right At School plays a crucial leadership part in driving the organization's mission within their assigned sites. This position is primarily responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the before and after school childcare programs, ensuring safety, joy, and quality standards are consistently met. The role requires an individual with a passion for child development and education, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities efficiently. This is a Monday through Friday split-shift position that requires availability for both shifts each day—the morning before school shift from 6:00 am to 9:30 am (with Monday extending to 10:30 am) and the after school shift from approximately 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Compensation for this position ranges between $23.00 and $24.50 per hour, depending on education and experience.
As a Program Manager, you will lead a dedicated team by modeling role model qualities and maintaining safety and joy standards. Responsibilities include keeping site documentation and licensing standards current, outlining attendance protocols, enforcing behavior and safety policies, and ensuring all program tasks are completed effectively. You will continually coach and foster respectful, productive relationships among staff to address any challenges promptly. Your role will also require ensuring the well-being of participants by monitoring, supporting, and reporting safety protocols and identifying potential risks to mitigate hazards.
Additionally, the Program Manager will engage in meaningful communication with families, client partners, peers, and children to build trust and maintain transparency. Prompt responses to inquiries during program hours and regular collaboration with the Area Manager to support program goals and operational improvements are essential aspects of this role. Accurate documentation such as student check-ins and check-outs following company "name to face" attendance policies must be maintained. Daily routines incorporating fun activities, fitness, and curriculum will be implemented to provide an engaging and safe environment conducive to children's growth and learning.
Ideal candidates for this role have experience managing competing priorities while delivering quality service to stakeholders, working with children including those with unique or special needs, and relevant coursework or training in child development or related fields. Strong oral, written, and visual communication skills are also important, as is the ability to model professionalism in interactions with students, parents, staff, and the community. Familiarity with Google technology or a willingness to learn is highly valued.
Overall, the Right At School Program Manager role offers an enriching opportunity to contribute to the development and well-being of children in a supportive, mission-driven environment with competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.
