The organization is widely recognized for its dedication to inclusivity, community impact, and educational excellence across Middle Tennessee, making it a trusted and respected institution. With locations that serve diverse populations, the YMCA of Middle Tennessee operates with a mission to strengthen community ties by helping individuals of all ages grow socially, physically, spiritually, and mentally.

The YMCA of Middle Tennessee is currently hiring for Part-time After School Childcare Assistants for its School Age Programs specifically servicing schools in West Rutherford County, including Blackman Elementary, Brown's Chapel Elementary, McFadden Elementary, and Poplar Hill Elementary. The pay range starts at $15 per hour or higher depending on the candidate's childcare experience. Shift hours are Monday through Friday, from 2 pm to 6 pm, allowing for an essential service during after-school care. As a School Age Services Site Assistant, you will be actively engaged in leading and supervising groups of 15 to 20 children, ensuring a safe, positive, and joyful environment. You will set up and transition program spaces into child-friendly areas, implement a high-quality curriculum aligned with YMCA standards, and maintain site licensing and quality standards. Building positive relationships with staff, school personnel, and families will be an integral part of your responsibilities, helping to create a collaborative and nurturing environment. The role requires enthusiastic individuals who are organized and passionate about youth development, capable of multitasking and handling conflict resolution, and physically able to keep up with an active group of children. Beyond caregiving, this position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a daily impact on children’s lives by fostering their growth and development in a community-focused organization that values every child’s potential.
