Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous cooking or kitchen experience preferred but not required
  • Ability to follow safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Strong communication skills in English
  • Reliable availability on scheduled days including every other weekend
  • Physical ability to perform job duties including standing and moving intermittently during shifts
  • Compliance with health and safety standards
  • Positive attitude and customer service orientation

Job Qualifications

  • Able to read, write, speak and understand the English language
  • Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace
  • Must be able to move intermittently throughout the work day
  • Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of the facility
  • Must be able to safely and successfully perform job-related functions with or without reasonable accommodation required by federal, state or local law
  • Cooking experience preferred
  • Training available

Job Duties

  • Maintain kitchen and dining areas in a clean and safe manner including all supplies and equipment
  • Adhere to the work schedule
  • Assist other members of the kitchen staff with meal preparation
  • Serve residents and their guests in a friendly, timely and courteous manner
  • Assist in cleaning the dining rooms following meal service
  • Prep materials for the next shift
  • Wash dishes
  • Assist with special events within the facility
  • Prepare special orders from residents and their guests
