Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Previous cooking or kitchen experience preferred but not required
Ability to follow safety and sanitation guidelines
Strong communication skills in English
Reliable availability on scheduled days including every other weekend
Physical ability to perform job duties including standing and moving intermittently during shifts
Compliance with health and safety standards
Positive attitude and customer service orientation

Job Qualifications

Able to read, write, speak and understand the English language
Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace
Must be able to move intermittently throughout the work day
Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of the facility
Must be able to safely and successfully perform job-related functions with or without reasonable accommodation required by federal, state or local law
Cooking experience preferred
Training available

Job Duties

Maintain kitchen and dining areas in a clean and safe manner including all supplies and equipment
Adhere to the work schedule
Assist other members of the kitchen staff with meal preparation
Serve residents and their guests in a friendly, timely and courteous manner
Assist in cleaning the dining rooms following meal service
Prep materials for the next shift
Wash dishes
Assist with special events within the facility
Prepare special orders from residents and their guests
