The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)/Patient Care Assistant role in the Inpatient Services Unit (ISU) at Banner Fort Collins Medical Center is an opportunity for passionate healthcare professionals to contribute significantly to patient care and support the nursing team. This part-time position, requiring 24 hours per week on night shifts, plays a critical role in promoting patient comfort and well-being throughout their hospital stay. The shift schedule consists of two 12-hour shifts weekly from 6 PM to 6:30 AM, including required weekend rotations, with additional financial incentives such as a weekend shift differential bonus and a $750 hire-on incentive available to eligible candidates.
As a CNA/Patient Care Assistant, you will assist patients with daily living activities, including hygiene, mobility, and nutrition, ensuring they receive compassionate, attentive care. The role involves ongoing patient data collection such as vital signs, input/output monitoring, and specimen collection, which is crucial for accurate medical record documentation and facilitating efficient patient management. You will also assist with unit-specific procedures under the supervision of licensed professionals and provide clerical support to maintain operational flow within the department.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
- Current BLS certification
- At least one year of medical clerical or customer service experience
- Working knowledge of medical terminology
- Computer literacy skills
- Ability to work night shifts including weekends
- Successfully pass ECG or EEG competency test if applicable
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in state of practice
- Current BLS certification
- Skills and abilities attained with at least one year of medical clerical experience or customer service
- Working knowledge of medical terminology
- Computer literacy and keyboarding skills
- Completion of ECG or EEG test with passing score as applicable
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff
- Preferred: Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) licensure in Arizona
- Preferred: Recent healthcare experience
- Preferred: Completion of approved unit secretary program
Job Duties
- Provide assistance in activities of daily living including hygiene, mobility, and nutritional support
- Collect patient specimens and data such as vital signs and input/output
- Document patient data accurately in medical records
- Recognize and report changes in patient health status to licensed professionals
- Perform delegated procedures including blood draws, Foley catheter removal, EKGs, and monitoring
- Support medical staff and patients during unit-specific procedures
- Perform receptionist and clerical duties to support department efficiency
- Maintain patient records with admission, transfer, and discharge information
- Manage supplies and equipment, including ordering and tracking
- Assist with patient transportation and OR room turnover as needed
