This role is based within Lowe's retail operations and focuses on delivering exceptional customer service and efficient delivery functions. The position primarily involves the execution of customer service policies, assisting customers by understanding their needs, and helping them select, carry, or load merchandise. The role demands expertise in managing in-stock merchandise, planning deliveries, building and loading delivery loads, inspecting product conditions, and ensuring on-time delivery adherence. Additionally, it requires strict compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and maintenance of delivery vehicles. The associate will also handle appliance unloading, installation, and testing, maintain clean and safe store environments, and operate various store equipment relevant to their department. Strong communication skills are critical for providing product knowledge, coordinating with customers and truck drivers, and managing reporting and safety documentation.
Candidates must hold a Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with air brake endorsement, possess a valid medical certificate, and be able to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) screening in line with company policies. Experience with semi-trucks or tractor-trailers and familiarity with in-home delivery or retail customer service are preferred. The position requires physical aptitude for handling merchandise loading and unloading safely and efficiently, along with adherence to shoplifting detection protocols and safety standards. Job Requirements
- Class A CDL license or Class B CDL license with air brake endorsement
- Valid medical certificate or ability to obtain one upon employment
- Ability to pass motor vehicle record screen in accordance with company requirements
- Ability to obtain sales related licensure or registration if required by law
- Ability to read write and perform basic arithmetic
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Ability to comply with DOT and CDL regulations
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Class A or B CDL license with air brake endorsement
- Valid medical certificate or ability to obtain one
- Ability to pass motor vehicle record screen
- Strong customer service skills
- Experience driving semi-truck or tractor trailer preferred
- Experience in retail customer service or in-home delivery preferred
- Ability to operate forklifts or Moffett trucks preferred

Job Duties
- Provides SMART customer service at all times through daily execution of Lowe's customer service policies procedures and programs
- Seeks out customers to understand needs and assists in locating demonstrating selecting carrying and loading merchandise
- Listens to and responds knowledgeably and promptly to customer and employee questions walking them through projects when necessary
- Demonstrates sincere appreciation to customers
- Communicates information regarding all stock special order merchandise feature benefits application and warranty information related to Lowe's programs
- Contacts customers regarding delivery or coordinates with truck driver to call customer
- Plans delivery activities prints loading tickets and delivers merchandise according to schedule to ensure on-time delivery of orders
- Pulls merchandise builds and bands delivery loads and loads trucks within payload according to delivery order
- Inspects condition of products e.g. appliances before loading for delivery or assisting customer with loading
- Matches items on invoice with quantities loaded by verifying descriptions items and model numbers
- Ensures loads are safe secure and within department of transportation regulations
- Updates delivery and route status on system for tracking purposes
- Unloads installs and tests appliances upon delivery
- Verifies daily vehicle inspections reports and ensures cleanliness maintenance and repairs for delivery vehicles and other equipment
- Completes department of transportation reporting to maintain certification and CDL compliance
- Detects signs of shoplifting theft and other security risks and promptly communicates them to management and/or asset protection
- Ensures compliance with housekeeping standards and organizes store and working areas
- Maintains a safe and secure work environment including conducting daily safety reviews noting hazards and securing doors and gates
- Adheres to all safety requirements relevant to job duties including top stock safety reinstalling safety cables use of aisle blockers and safety devices
- Operates store equipment as needed depending on role and department
- Performs other duties as assigned
