Job Description
Our company is a reputable automotive dealership dedicated to providing superior vehicle service and repair solutions to our valued customers. We pride ourselves on our commitment to quality, efficiency, and exceptional customer service, which has established us as a trusted name in the automotive industry. Our service department is staffed with experienced professionals who ensure every repair and service transaction is handled with accuracy and care, aiming to enhance the overall customer experience and maintain long-term relationships with clients.
We are currently seeking a Service Department Cashier to join our dedicated team. This role is vital to the smooth operation of our service department, as it involves managing all payment transactions with courtesy and efficiency. The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing payments for repairs and parts, explaining vehicle service recommendations to customers, and ensuring that estimates and invoices are accurately completed. Utilizing specialized software, the Service Department Cashier maintains detailed records of payment amounts, repair orders, and customer data, including service history and parts purchased. The position demands a strong understanding of warranty types and the ability to calculate various charges, including materials, repairs, and taxes.
The work schedule for this role includes Monday and Wednesday shifts from 10 am to 7 pm, with alternating Saturdays from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, and several days off during the week, offering a balanced work-life dynamic. This position requires a high school diploma or GED and preferably previous experience in retail or customer service, including cash handling and point-of-sale system familiarity. Automotive dealership experience is highly valued, though candidates with service or hospitality backgrounds will also be considered. The successful applicant will exhibit excellent interpersonal skills, strong organizational abilities, and a keen computer aptitude, all while delivering top-notch customer service.
This role goes beyond simple cash handling; it requires the Service Department Cashier to be accountable for their money drawer and to work closely with other department personnel to address any customer concerns. Clerical tasks such as appointment scheduling, record maintenance, billing, and supply ordering are also part of the daily responsibilities. Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to safety and security protocols are critical. The Service Department Cashier controls key management related to repair orders and ensures that customer vehicle keys are returned appropriately.
Overall, the Service Department Cashier is a customer-facing role that demands meticulous attention to detail, a pleasant demeanor, and a professional work ethic. This role is perfect for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced, process-driven environment and who are passionate about providing exceptional service while supporting the operational needs of an automotive service department. If you are detail-oriented, customer-focused, and eager to join a respected automotive dealership, this position offers a rewarding opportunity to grow your career within the industry.
