Job Description

Home Helpers Home Care is a renowned and award-winning home care agency serving San Mateo County and its surrounding communities, including San Mateo, Burlingame, Hillsborough, Millbrae, Pacifica, Half Moon Bay, Palo Alto, Redwood City, San Carlos, and Belmont. With over 11 years of recognition as an "Employer of Choice," Home Helpers has established itself as one of the fastest-growing and most respected home care providers in the region. The organization is deeply committed to kindness, compassion, and exceptional care, offering tailored in-home support services to seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those requiring specialized care such as dementia, Alzheimer’s, and hospice support.

The agency’s ethos revolves around fostering meaningful relationships, providing dignified care, and supporting clients in maintaining the highest quality of life possible while remaining safely in their homes. At Home Helpers Home Care, the team values each member, offering more than just employment but a rewarding career path with opportunities for professional growth within a supportive environment.

The role of a Caregiver at Home Helpers Home Care is both fulfilling and dynamic. Caregivers play a vital role in delivering hands-on personal care and assistance to clients throughout San Mateo County, including its coastal areas. The position offers a range of flexible scheduling options, including 4 to 8-hour shifts, weekend availability, live-in assignments, and multi-client shifts. This flexibility benefits caregivers seeking a work-life balance aligned with their availability and lifestyle.

Caregivers who thrive in this position are those who enjoy working with various clients, adapt easily to diverse care needs, and take pride in providing companionship, emotional support, and mobility assistance. Critical responsibilities include toileting and incontinence care, helping clients with transfers, developing trust with clients affected by dementia or Alzheimer’s, and delivering hospice and end-of-life support with empathy and respect. The role also extends to helping clients stay engaged in life through transportation, errand support, and daily activities, emphasizing a holistic approach to care.

Compensation starts at $22 to $25 per hour, depending on client assignments, reflecting the specialized skills and compassionate nature required for the role. Home Helpers also provides daily pay through Tapcheck for immediate access to earnings, making financial management convenient for caregivers. Full-time opportunities are available for those open to multiple clients or split shifts, alongside comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance for eligible employees.

Additional perks include paid initial and ongoing training on essential caregiving skills such as dementia care and transfer skills, a $300 caregiver referral bonus, a $150 sign-on bonus after completing 30 shifts, paid sick leave, flexible scheduling, and a supportive office team that prioritizes caregiver well-being. The agency’s focus on continuous learning and support ensures that caregivers are equipped and confident to provide excellent care while advancing their careers.
