ResCare Community Living, part of the Sevita family, is a well-established organization dedicated to empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live independently and with dignity. Founded in 1974, ResCare has continuously provided quality services that support personal growth, skill development, and community integration. With decades of experience, ResCare is recognized for its person-centered approach, ensuring each individual receives tailored support that meets their unique needs and goals. The organization values compassion, respect, and empowerment, creating a supportive environment where individuals can thrive and reach their full potential.
Sevita, the parent company, is a leading provider of home and community-based specialized health care with a mission to help people live fulfilling and independent lives regardless of the physical, intellectual, or behavioral challenges they face. Serving over 50,000 individuals across the United States and employing a team of 40,000 highly skilled professionals, Sevita prioritizes innovation and quality care. The combined strength of ResCare Community Living and Sevita ensures a stable, supportive, and growth-oriented work environment for employees and unmatched care for participants.
The Caregiver role at Sevita pays $9 per hour and is central to delivering compassionate, person-centered care. Caregivers support participants with developmental disabilities by assisting with daily living activities, personal hygiene, and managing behavioral challenges with patience and compassion. This role offers the opportunity to build meaningful relationships and actively contribute to participants' independence, skill-building, and community participation. Caregivers are encouraged to take initiative in supporting participants' goals, such as budgeting, exercise, and nutrition, helping them achieve a higher quality of life.
Working at Sevita means being part of a team that values and trusts its members to do what is right for those they serve. The organization promotes a culture of respect, ownership, and support where caregivers feel motivated and empowered. Full-time employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package including a 401(k) with a 3% company match, paid time off, holiday pay, and ongoing learning and development opportunities. Additionally, supervisors are committed to supporting both participants and staff to foster a healthy and productive work environment.
This role requires compassion, patience, and reliability, along with a willingness to learn and adapt to meet the diverse needs of individuals with developmental disabilities. Caregivers with previous experience in human services or direct care are preferred but not mandatory, making this an excellent opportunity for those looking to build a fulfilling career in healthcare and community support. The position also requires a valid driver’s license, access to a registered vehicle, and proof of insurance, enabling caregivers to support participants in various community settings.
