The Part-Time Café Ambassador position in the New York City area represents an exciting opportunity to join Capital One’s innovative approach to banking. As a Café Ambassador, you will represent Capital One’s mission to change banking for good, acting as the face of the brand within a vibrant, modern community space. You will engage proactively with guests in a lively setting that doubles as both a community gathering spot and a local coffee shop, without the duties of serving coffee.
This role is ideal for a natural connector who enjoys helping others understand and navigate the increasingly digital landscape of banking. Ambassadors guide customers through Capital One’s digital tools, troubleshooting common issues and enhancing financial literacy through friendly, meaningful conversation. You will also host and support events centered around financial health, contributing to the overall community impact the Cafe strives to achieve.
The position requires an individual who thrives in dynamic environments, embraces change, and fosters an inclusive culture that makes every guest feel welcome and valued. It is important to note that this role removes the pressure of traditional sales quotas, allowing you to focus on the quality of customer interactions rather than numbers. The work is active and mobile throughout the Cafe, promoting engagement and relationship building.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent certification
- At least 1 year of retail, sales, or customer service experience
- Available to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to adapt to schedule changes driven by business needs
- Must attend all required training sessions
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
- Ability to stand or move for extended periods
- Regular and consistent attendance required
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent certification
- At least 1 year of retail, sales, or customer service experience
- Associate’s degree preferred
- 2+ years banking experience preferred
- 2+ years retail or customer-facing experience preferred
- Proficient in G-Suite preferred
- Strong written and oral communication skills preferred
Job Duties
- Engage proactively with guests in a high-energy Café environment
- Serve as a brand advocate sharing Capital One’s products and services through genuine conversation
- Guide customers through digital banking tools and troubleshoot technology issues
- Host and support local financial health events
- Advocate for customers, problem-solve, and handle issue resolution ensuring compliance
- Foster a supportive and inclusive environment where every guest feels welcome
- Stay agile and active throughout the Café to maintain guest engagement and support operations
