Operating over 1,300 stores across 49 states in the U.S. and Canada, as well as through its online platforms Michaels.com and Michaels.ca, Michaels is recognized as the best destination for all things creative. The company also owns Artistree, a manufacturer of custom and specialty framing merchandise, further enhancing its reputation as a comprehensive resource for crafting and framing needs. Michaels is committed to creating an inclusive, welcoming environment for customers and employees alike, focusing on fostering creativity and joyful experiences. They emphasize employee wellbeing by offering robust benefits to both full-time and part-time team members, including health insurance (medical, dental, and vision), paid time off, tuition assistance, and generous employee discounts.
The role of Event Coordinator at the Michaels store in Bellevue, WA, is a dynamic and engaging position designed to provide customers with memorable, fun, and stress-free events, including children’s birthday parties and craft-related activities. This position requires the ability to plan, coordinate, and execute multiple events simultaneously, catering to a diverse clientele ranging in age from children to seniors. As an Event Coordinator, you will be the face of the event experience, engaging guests with creativity and enthusiasm, and ensuring that every detail—from project demonstrations and face painting to party add-ons like balloons and goody bags—is executed flawlessly.
In addition to event planning, this role also involves delivering superior customer service throughout the store. You will assist customers in finding products, provide quick and friendly checkout experiences, and help promote the company’s rewards programs and private label credit cards. Administrative tasks such as email correspondence, phone calls, and paperwork are also key aspects, as well as operational responsibilities like truck unload, stocking, merchandise recovery, and maintaining store standards.
The Event Coordinator needs excellent communication and organizational skills, the ability to handle job stress, and a passion for working with children and customers of all ages. Physical requirements include standing for long periods and performing routine stockroom and sales floor tasks, which include lifting, reaching, and occasionally climbing ladders. A positive and respectful attitude is crucial for this position, along with a commitment to the company’s vision and values.
Overall, this role offers an exciting opportunity to be a prominent part of a nationally recognized creative retail brand while developing valuable skills in event coordination, customer service, and retail operations. The base pay range for this position is $17.13 to $20.00 per hour, reflecting Michaels’ dedication to a rewarding work experience. Michaels also prioritizes inclusivity and equal opportunity employment, providing accommodations to qualified individuals and fostering a positive team environment where creativity can flourish.
