The role available at the SEA-BELLEVUE, WA store is a part-time Event Coordinator position dedicated to planning, coordinating, and facilitating various events, including children's birthday parties and craft classes, within the Michaels store. This role is pivotal in delivering a stress-free, fun, and engaging experience for guests, ensuring that every event runs smoothly and meets the high standards of the Michaels brand. The Event Coordinator acts as a friendly and knowledgeable ambassador for the store, helping customers shop efficiently, find the products they need, and enjoy the full range of services Michaels offers.

This position involves a blend of customer service, event management, and operational duties. The Event Coordinator is responsible for planning multiple events simultaneously, engaging with clients of all ages from toddlers to seniors, and leading creative craft projects and activities such as face painting. They manage party logistics including setup, breakdown, ensuring cleanliness and safety standards, and handling administrative tasks like responding to emails and phone calls. Flexibility and adaptability are essential, as the coordinator must adjust plans based on customer feedback and have backup arrangements ready.

In addition to event-specific tasks, the role includes general retail responsibilities such as assisting customers with product locations, processing fast and friendly checkouts, enrolling customers in rewards programs, and supporting omnichannel initiatives like Buy Online Pickup In Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS). The position also requires participation in truck unloading, stock replenishment, merchandise display according to planograms, and maintaining store recovery standards to uphold the brand's visual presentation and customer experience.

Experience working with children and organizing children’s events is highly valued. Job Duties

  • Plan and coordinate multiple events including children's birthday parties and craft classes
  • Engage with clients of all ages by creating a fun and creative environment
  • Demonstrate and instruct craft projects and perform face painting
  • Facilitate and implement party add-ons such as goody bags and balloons
  • Communicate event details with clients and store team
  • Complete administrative tasks such as emails, calls, and paperwork
  • Adjust event plans based on client feedback
  • Create backup or emergency plans for events
  • Ensure client satisfaction
  • Uphold cleanliness and safety standards by setting up and cleaning before and after events
  • Help customers shop and locate products
  • Provide fast and friendly checkout
  • Promote Rewards program and credit card enrollments
  • Educate customers on Voice of Customer survey
  • Assist with Buy Online Pickup In Store and Ship From Store processes
  • Participate in truck unloading, stocking, and planogram processes
  • Maintain merchandise recovery and store cleanliness
  • Support shrink and safety programs
  • Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures and company policies
  • Display positive and respectful interaction
  • Cross-train in Custom Framing selling and production
  • Participate in daily store cleaning activities
