This particular role based in the SEA-BELLEVUE, WA store centers on event coordination and customer service within the Michaels retail environment. The position involves planning, coordinating, and facilitating multiple events, including children’s birthday parties and various craft classes, designed to create a fun, stress-free, and enriching experience for guests of all ages from kids to seniors. The event coordinator engages clients actively, leading craft projects, face painting, and implementing party enhancements such as goody bags and balloons, maintaining company event standards. Administrative responsibilities such as managing communications with clients and team members, answering emails, phone calls, and preparing paperwork are part of the role. The coordinator also adapts event plans based on client feedback and ensures satisfaction while upholding safety and cleanliness protocols.

Beyond event management, the role encompasses delivering exceptional customer service by guiding customers through their shopping journey, locating products, facilitating fast checkout processes, promoting the rewards program and private label credit card enrollments, and assisting with Omni channel services including Buy Online Pickup in Store and Ship From Store. Team members participate in logistical tasks like truck unloading, stocking, merchandise recovery, and maintaining store standards. Cross-training in areas such as custom framing selling and production is provided to enhance versatility. Physical demands include standing for extended periods, lifting heavy boxes, and performing routine store maintenance like sweeping, vacuuming, and dusting. The role requires excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and creative problem-solving skills. Ideal candidates should be energetic, experienced in retail or customer service, and possess the ability to engage effectively with children and a wide range of customers. Job Requirements

  • Previous retail or customer service experience
