Job Description
Still Austin Whiskey Co is recognized as the first true grain-to-glass distillery to open in Austin since the end of Prohibition. This pioneering establishment stands out as one of the fastest-growing craft whiskey brands in the United States, crafting high-quality spirits with a dedication to authenticity and tradition. Located in Austin, Texas, Still Austin emphasizes community, craftsmanship, and hospitality, creating an inviting atmosphere for guests to experience their product firsthand. As the company expands into the newly developed Still Austin Quarter (SAQ), the role of hospitality becomes increasingly crucial in shaping how guests interact with and perceive the brand. Every team member, regardless of their position, is regarded as a brand ambassador who plays an active role in delivering genuine and exceptional hospitality. This philosophy ensures a consistent, memorable experience that aligns with the company's commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
The Barback at Still Austin Whiskey Co holds a vital role in supporting bar and service operations. This position is designed to maintain product readiness, cleanliness, and organization while actively engaging with guests and taking ownership of service needs whenever necessary. Barbacks in the SAQ setting are more than just behind-the-scenes support; they are guest-facing contributors expected to assist and execute with confidence. Their responsibilities range from restocking the bar, running food to tables, responding to guest inquiries, and fulfilling drink or food requests when appropriate. The role is foundational to seamless service delivery and embodies the company’s core belief that hospitality does not stop at job titles. Barbacks are encouraged to demonstrate pride in elevated hospitality, ownership of the guest experience, and growing confidence in the food, beverage, and spirits knowledge they possess. They anticipate guest needs proactively and maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness, organization, and teamwork even in the fast-paced, high-volume environment of the SAQ. Flexibility and composure are key traits that contribute to success in this dynamic role, which ultimately supports Still Austin’s reputation as a craft whiskey destination that values both its products and its people.
