This role is focused on supporting the bar operations within the restaurant environment at Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants. As a Barback, you will assist bartenders by handling the essential behind-the-scenes tasks that keep the bar running smoothly. This includes stocking beverages, maintaining cleanliness, managing equipment, and supporting food and beverage service when necessary. The position requires a proactive, team-oriented mindset and a passion for creating personal, memorable experiences for guests. Acting as an advocate for the bar and restaurant, you will engage with guests and help foster relationships that encourage return visits. This position also offers a competitive hourly wage starting at $16.30, with the potential for variation depending on experience, skills, and other factors. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • One year of experience in a similar or supportive role preferred
  • Food Handler and Alcohol Awareness Certification if applicable
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to learn menu and allergy information
  • Ability to use restaurant point-of-sale systems
  • Knowledge of inventory and invoicing software preferred
  • Strong dedication to hospitality and guest service
  • Flexible with schedule to work evenings weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • One year of experience in a similar or supportive role preferred
  • Food Handler and Alcohol Awareness Certification if applicable
  • Able to prioritize multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
  • Able to learn retain and present product menu and allergy information
  • Knowledge or ability to learn restaurant point-of-sale system
  • Restaurant inventory and invoicing software proficiency preferred

  • Flexible schedule with availability for evenings weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Assist the bartender with stocking cleanliness equipment handling and maintenance
  • Serve food and beverages for guests and service staff when necessary
  • Greet and welcome guests
  • Check service stations and tables to ensure accurate set-up and cleanliness
  • Assist restaurant dining services when appropriate
  • Perform all necessary sidework setup and breakdown of the bar
  • Follow uniform and grooming specifications
  • Clean and change trash cans fill and clean ice bins stock beer wine juice and other beverages
  • Clean shelving stainless steel mixers cups blenders and soda guns
  • Unpack deliveries stock bar and change beer kegs
  • Notify manager if guest is intoxicated or rude
  • Take on responsibilities outside job description as needed
