The Banquet Supervisor position at The Glen Eyrie Conference Center is a vital role responsible for the smooth execution and high-quality service of all banquet functions. This role focuses primarily on the front of house operations, ensuring that banquet staff adhere strictly to service standards and departmental policies. The Supervisor will oversee the setup, presentation, and service of banquet events, ensuring that client specifications and special dietary needs are accurately met. Responsibilities include coordinating with kitchen staff, managing guest interactions, and maintaining a professional and positive atmosphere throughout each event. The role involves direct serving duties such as carrying and serving plates, replenishing guest needs, and maintaining cleanliness and safety standards in the event spaces. Additionally, the Banquet Supervisor may take on leadership responsibilities such as obtaining Banquet Event Orders (BEO), assisting with inventory and training new staff, and participating in organizational development events. Candidates for this role should have previous waitstaff experience, excellent customer service and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Job Duties
- maintain positive and professional attitude
- gather menu information for each function served to provide signage and explain to guests
- be aware of banquet event order details including special diets
- set up tables with linens, place settings, and buffet as requested
- carry and serve food on trays to guests
- inspect meeting rooms before guest arrival ensuring client specifications are met
- resolve guest complaints within scope or refer to management
- notify supervisor or security of unusual events or missing items
- maintain proper dining experience by delivering items, replenishing utensils and glasses
- maintain safety and cleanliness standards in all conference center areas
- communicate guest needs and concerns to banquet supervisor
- clean up venue after events and assist with closing tasks
- perform basic cleaning as needed
- greet guests warmly
- adhere to grooming and appearance standards
- provide quick service for last minute changes
- lead specific functions when required
- obtain banquet event orders for functions
- assist with quarterly inventory
- help train new staff
- participate in development and diversity training
- read spiritually and culturally developmental literature
- participate in annual plan and progress reviews
- submit weekly time sheets
- perform other duties as assigned
