This part-time position at Harris Teeter involves baking products according to established standards and processing, packaging, and stocking Fresh Foods products in compliance with Fresh Foods Standards. The role also includes cleaning work areas to maintain hygiene, providing excellent customer service, unloading stock deliveries, and reloading salvage items. This position requires an individual who can reliably perform each essential duty and contribute positively to the store’s operations and customer experience. The associate must be at least 18 years old to be eligible for this role. Harris Teeter expects to pay between $16.40 and $22.00 per hour for this role based on the applicant's experience and skill sets.

The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team responsible for ensuring that all fresh food and bakery products meet the company’s quality and safety standards. Training is an important aspect of this role, with required completion of new hire orientation, food sanitation, customer service network, safety, food safety, and product knowledge programs. The work environment involves moderate exposure to hot, cold, and extreme temperatures, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and potentially toxic or caustic chemicals. Therefore, physical stamina and comfort in these conditions are essential.

This role demands exceptional interpersonal skills and a willingness to engage in training programs and teamwork to improve customer satisfaction and sales. Effective communication in English is necessary for reading and comprehending instructions and for interacting with customers and colleagues. Mathematical skills such as adding and subtracting two-digit numbers and handling American money and weight units are required to perform job duties accurately. The job also requires physical tasks including standing, walking, lifting up to 30 pounds regularly, and occasionally up to 50 pounds, as well as abilities in close vision, color recognition, and depth perception.
