Job Description
Smart & Final is a well-established grocery warehouse store with a history spanning more than 150 years. The company is known for providing fresh produce, quality meats, and a wide range of groceries, including more than 3,000 club-sized items that cater to various budgets and needs. Smart & Final distinguishes itself as a smaller, faster grocery warehouse that operates without a membership fee, making it accessible and convenient for a broad customer base. The company is not just committed to offering great products but also to giving back to the communities it serves. Through the Smart & Final Charitable Foundation, the company donates over $1 million annually and volunteers more than 1,000 hours each year, reflecting its strong community engagement and corporate social responsibility.
As part of the Chedraui USA group, Smart & Final aims to deliver an exceptional shopping experience with the freshest selection across all its retail banners. The people behind the brand are at the core of its success, and the company continually seeks talented individuals committed to advancing its mission. Working at Smart & Final means being part of a team dedicated to quality, customer satisfaction, and community involvement.
The Part-Time Associate role at the Smart & Final store located at 25050 Alessandro Blvd, Ste B, Moreno Valley, California, offers an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy working in a community-focused environment and have a passion for food and customer service. This position offers a starting rate of $16.90 per hour and involves working part-time hours, making it suitable for students, retirees, or anyone seeking flexible employment.
The Part-Time Associate reports directly to the Store Manager and performs a variety of management-assigned duties. These tasks include receiving and stocking inventory, maintaining a designated store section, operating the cash register, providing carry-out services, and ensuring cleanliness and sanitation within the store and its surroundings. The role requires good interpersonal skills as employees are expected to interact positively with customers, vendors, and fellow team members.
This position requires the candidate to be capable of reading and following instructions, understanding product labels and pricing codes, and writing basic correspondence when necessary. Additionally, physical activity is an essential aspect of the job, with the need to frequently lift and move merchandise, sometimes weighing up to 60 pounds. Familiarity with basic PC and Outlook skills and a Retail Management Certificate would be advantageous but are not mandatory.
Benefits of working with Smart & Final include a 401(k) retirement plan, continuing education benefits, and other perks that support both personal and professional development. Smart & Final provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants without discrimination based on race, color, religion, gender, national origin, age, disability, or genetics. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a friendly, fast-paced retail environment and values contributing to their community while gaining valuable retail experience.
