Known as a smaller, faster grocery warehouse store without the need for a membership fee, Smart & Final has earned its reputation by combining convenience and value, making it a trusted choice for families and individuals alike. Located at 389 Arneil Road, Camarillo, California, the 400 Camarillo store is a vital part of the community, providing essential products and exceptional customer service to a diverse customer base.
Smart & Final is committed to giving back to the communities it serves through the Smart & Final Charitable Foundation, donating over $1 million annually and contributing more than 1,000 volunteer hours each year. As part of the larger Chedraui USA group of companies, the store upholds a mission to offer customers an outstanding shopping experience, highlighting the freshest and highest quality product selection available. Behind this mission is a dedicated team of employees who play a crucial role in the store's success and customer satisfaction.
The role of Part-Time Associate at the 400 Camarillo location is pivotal for maintaining the store’s standards and ensuring customers receive excellent service. This position offers a starting pay rate of $16.90 per hour and is designed for individuals who are passionate about their community, love food, and are enthusiastic about delivering excellent customer service. As a Part-Time Associate, you will be an integral member of the store operations team, assisting with a variety of tasks that contribute daily to the smooth running of store operations.

Additionally, associates support store appearance by performing cleaning duties to uphold sanitation standards both inside the store and in the parking lot. Operating cash registers to process payments and returns is also part of this role, requiring accuracy and friendly interaction with customers. Associates are expected to provide knowledgeable and courteous assistance, helping customers locate products and sometimes assisting with carry-out services.
The role also requires basic bookkeeping tasks, such as recording lost or damaged goods and tracking store supplies. This ensures that inventory and financial records are maintained accurately and efficiently. The position requires someone who can read and write English, understand product labels and pricing codes, and effectively communicate in one-on-one or small group settings. Physical demands include regularly lifting/moving up to 25 pounds, frequently lifting/moving up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lifting/moving up to 60 pounds, highlighting the need for physical stamina.
Candidates with basic computer or Outlook skills and retail management certification are considered an asset, although not mandatory. This position provides a unique opportunity to join a well-established grocery retailer that values community involvement and employee growth. Benefits include a 401(k) retirement plan, continuing education opportunities, and more, supporting employees’ long-term success and well-being. Equality and inclusion are foundational at Smart & Final, offering equal employment opportunities to all without discrimination on various grounds.
