Job Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 or more years of relevant administrative and accounting experience
  • Background in funeral home or customer service required
  • Proficiency with MS Office, email, internet, and office tools
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Must be detail oriented and maintain confidentiality
  • Flexible and able to function in a fast-paced environment
  • Physical ability to lift 10 to 25 pounds unassisted and up to 75 pounds with assistance
  • Must stand or sit for periods up to 4 hours
  • Commitment to compassion and professionalism when interacting with bereaved families
  • Willingness to comply with drug and alcohol testing policies

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of accounts payable, accounts receivable, general accounting and clerical experience
  • Background in funeral home or customer service experience required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, email, internet, and office equipment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to multitask and set priorities
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate compassion

Job Duties

  • Maintain ethical standards and confidentiality
  • Maintain a professional appearance
  • Receptionist duties including answering multi-line telephone and directing calls
  • Processing electronic death records system (EDRS) and death certificate processing
  • Enter contracts into HMIS
  • Review and collect accounts receivable
  • Process and verify accounts payable
  • Manage petty cash account according to company policies
  • Perform reconciliation of accounts including monthly credit card statements
  • Manage office supply ordering and inventory
  • Support funeral directing and family service teams
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Maintain and update customer records
  • Assist customers with compassion and professionalism
  • Support a positive work environment fostering teamwork
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
