Job Description

Anythink Libraries is a dynamic community library system committed to enriching lives through accessible resources, welcoming spaces, and innovative programming. Operating across multiple branches, Anythink Libraries serves Adams County with a strong dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), fostering environments where all residents and visitors feel welcomed, supported, and inspired. With a focus on culturally relevant programming and community connections, Anythink Libraries provides more than just books; it offers a gateway to knowledge, creativity, and personal growth for individuals of all ages and backgrounds. The organization values creativity, optimism, and continuous learning, creating a workplace where employees can thrive while making a meaningful impact in their communities.

The role of a Concierge at Anythink Libraries is an exciting part-time opportunity designed for individuals passionate about customer service, technology, and community engagement. Earning $18.00 per hour plus eligibility for a bilingual stipend, this non-benefited, non-exempt position within the Branch Services business unit emphasizes being the face of the library. The Concierge is central to the customer experience, greeting patrons warmly, assisting them in navigating library resources, and providing tech support on basic computer needs. This position demands a friendly, outgoing personality with excellent communication skills, a willingness to engage in meaningful conversations about library products and services, and the ability to think quickly and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

As a Concierge, you will actively contribute to making the library a welcoming and inspiring place. Your duties include helping customers find books or use self-checkout services, maintaining clean and attractive displays, managing experience zones with interactive components, and assisting with cash handling and fee payments. You will also be responsible for training patrons on library technologies such as the copy center and Microsoft products, answering phones, reserving meeting rooms, and supporting library programs and promotions. This role offers a unique chance to contribute ideas on district committees and grow professionally through lifelong learning opportunities.

This position is ideal for someone who loves to help others, enjoys building connections, and thrives in a changing environment. Evening and weekend shifts are part of the schedule, and the physical demands include standing, walking, crouching, and lifting up to 25 pounds. If you are looking to be part of a team that values compassion, passion for the product, creativity, and optimism, and you want to help transform library services into dynamic community experiences, this Concierge position at Anythink Libraries is an excellent fit for you.
