We are currently seeking skilled and dedicated Cooks/Chefs to join our team at Parkshore Juanita Bay. This role is essential in delivering high-quality food that meets the dietary needs and preferences of our senior residents. Working under the direction of the lead cook or sous chef, the cook will prepare individual components of various entrees and food items, ensuring compliance with specific dietary restrictions. The hourly rate for this position ranges from $23 to $28, dependent on experience. The position requires flexibility, including the potential need to work weekends and various shifts to accommodate the community's needs. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to work collaboratively with staff and engage with residents thoughtfully. Essential responsibilities include maintaining kitchen food safety and sanitary conditions in adherence to State, Federal, and Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) regulations. This role plays a key part in ensuring that all meals are prepared with care, respect, and attention to individual therapeutic and modified diet requirements. Job Requirements
- At least 18 years of age
- Prior experience as a cook/sous chef/grill cook
- Ability to prepare high quality food for residents
- Flexibility with schedule including potential weekend and varied shifts
- Ability to maintain professional relationships with vendors
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to prepare therapeutic/modified diets
- CPR and first aid training per guidelines
- Successful completion of food safety course
- Background check, drug screen, and/or other pre-employment tasks as required
Job Qualifications
- At least 18 years of age
- Prior experience as a cook/sous chef/grill cook (1-2 years preferred)
- Ability to prepare high quality food for residents
- Ability to maintain professional relationships with food and equipment vendors
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to prepare therapeutic/modified diets
- CPR and first aid training may be required
- Successful completion of recognized food safety course
- Completion of background check, drug screen, and/or pre-employment tasks as required by state/local guidelines
Job Duties
- Prepare assigned stations for shift
- Under direction of lead cook/sous chef, prepare individual components of various entrees and food items, adhering to the individual dietary restrictions of residents
- Maintain kitchen food safety and sanitary food handling in compliance with State, Federal, and DSHS regulations
- Perform other duties as assigned
