Job Requirements

  • Be at least 16 years old or as specified for particular roles
  • Able to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays
  • Able to lift at least 35 pounds
  • Ability to demonstrate techniques and skills relevant to the position
  • For aquatic roles, possess current American Red Cross Lifeguard training or nationally recognized certification, CPR for Professional Rescuer certification, First Aid certification, and pass swim test
  • Obtain CPR/AED and First Aid certification within 30 days of employment for certain roles
  • Meet position-specific certification requirements such as Level 2 USA Archery Instructor for Archery Coordinator

Job Qualifications

  • Possess relevant certifications such as CPR and First Aid
  • Have specialized knowledge relevant to the specific position such as USA Archery Instructor certification or lifeguard certification
  • Demonstrate experience in supervising staff or managing programs
  • Be enrolled in or completed accredited certification/licensing programs where applicable
  • Have basic computer and office skills for coordination roles
  • Exhibit strong communication and organizational abilities
  • Previous experience in recreation or related fields preferred

Job Duties

  • Supervise and schedule staff according to assigned position
  • Oversee maintenance and safety of facilities and equipment
  • Plan and instruct specialized classes or programs
  • Coordinate special events and community activities
  • Manage inventory and supplies relevant to position
  • Ensure compliance with departmental policies and safety procedures
  • Provide excellent customer service and respond to public inquiries
