Job Description
The Broadmoor is a renowned luxury resort located in Colorado Springs, Colorado, widely recognized for its exceptional service and prestigious status as a Forbes Five-Star and AAA Five Diamond property. Established as a premier destination that combines impeccable hospitality with breathtaking surroundings, The Broadmoor offers guests an unforgettable experience marked by elegance, comfort, and world-class amenities. As the longest-running Five-Star, Five-Diamond resort in the world, The Broadmoor holds a commitment to both guests and employees to maintain the highest standards of excellence. Beyond just being a leading hospitality venue, The Broadmoor fosters a culture of family and community, emphasizing the importance of teamwork, respect, and professional growth within its workforce.
The role of the Valet Parker at The Broadmoor is pivotal in upholding the resort's esteemed reputation through exceptional guest service. This position is part of the Guest Services team and involves the warm and courteous greeting of all guests upon their arrival, regardless of their mode of transportation. The Valet Parker's responsibilities range from assisting door and bell staff with loading and unloading guest vehicles to managing the use of operational equipment such as radios and earpieces to maintain effective communication during shifts. Additional duties include attending daily pre-shift meetings, providing guests with useful directions and information about the resort and the surrounding Colorado Springs area, and assisting with outdoor maintenance like snow removal and ice melt placement when necessary.
The role requires not only a proactive approach to guest interactions but also attention to detail in maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Valet Parkers ensure lobby access doors are open for guests and complete all opening and closing duties as assigned. Confidentiality regarding guest information is strictly observed, and any incidents involving vehicle or property damage are promptly reported to supervisors and Loss Prevention personnel. The position demands excellent interpersonal communication skills, physical stamina—including the ability to stand, walk, and even run significant distances during a shift—and a friendly, enthusiastic demeanor that reflects the resort's commitment to five-star service. With a salary range of $18.00 to $25.00 per hour inclusive of gratuities, the role offers a competitive wage that guarantees at least the current Colorado minimum wage, supplemented by variability in tips dependent on events and seasons.
Working at The Broadmoor extends far beyond performing daily job functions; it represents joining a diverse and dedicated team committed to professional growth and world-class service excellence. The resort invests in its employees by providing comprehensive benefits packages, including health and dental insurance, 401k plans, and local discounts. Career development opportunities abound, intended to nurture employees' growth whether seeking advancement, personal improvement, or seasonal employment. Overall, the Valet Parker position presents a unique chance for someone eager to develop a career in luxury hospitality, engage with a supportive team environment, and contribute directly to a memorable guest experience at an iconic resort.
