Responsibilities of the Garage Porter include cleaning and maintaining buildings, parking garages, and facilities, following safe procedures for chemical and equipment use, notifying management of repair needs, maintaining communication with team members and clients, and ensuring compliance with all safety and quality standards. Additional duties include dusting, sweeping, waste removal, pressure washing, painting curbs and lines, seasonal landscaping tasks like raking leaves and snow removal, and servicing garage gate equipment. Job Duties
- Clean and maintain buildings/facilities/parking garages
- follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures
- notify manager concerning the need for minor or major repairs or additions to garage operating systems
- establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships with clients, co-workers, shift coordinators, supervisors, managers
- comply with all safety, security, compliance, and quality standards and procedures established by the company, clients, and regulatory authorities
- clean and dust furniture, fixtures, floors, ceilings, walls, machines, light fixtures and equipment
- move boxes, furniture, crates and equipment, either manually or by using golf cart
- clean interior partition glass, windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees
- change light bulbs
- gather and empty trash
- sweep walks, rake leaves, cut grass, remove snow or perform other incidental seasonal tasks
- wipe and clean elevator cabs
- service, clean, and supply restrooms
- pick up trash
- work weekend as needed
- pressure washing
- painting curbs, lines and any other items that are needed
- clean cobwebs off light fixtures
- dust and clean stairwells
- count occupied garage spaces daily
- service garage gate equipment for minor repairs
