The role of Parking Garage Maintenance/Porter at Louisville Marriott, operated by Towne Park, is a hands-on position dedicated to maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall functionality of the parking garage facility. This role involves performing regular cleaning and upkeep of the garage’s common areas, including guest entrances, elevator landings, signage, equipment, and waste receptacles. The Porter serves an essential role in delivering exceptional hospitality by assisting guests courteously and efficiently during their stay. Essential responsibilities include handling guest inquiries, providing roadside assistance like unlocks and jump-starts, and ensuring a secure and welcoming environment. The hourly base pay for this position is $12, with medical benefits available to all employees. The work schedule is flexible, covering weekdays, weekends, and some holidays, with options for full-time or part-time shifts.

Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • able to pass a criminal background check
  • able to pass a drug screen
  • one to three months related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • able to read and comprehend simple instructions
  • able to write simple correspondence
  • physically capable of lifting up to 100 pounds
  • able to work in outdoor conditions for extended periods
  • availability to work weekdays, weekends, holidays, and all shifts

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • customer service experience preferred
  • ability to read and write Standard English
  • effective communication skills
  • ability to understand 24-hour and military time systems
  • knowledge of basic general cleaning

Job Duties

  • Cleanliness check of guest entrances and elevator landings
  • empty ash urns and trash receptacles
  • sweeping litter and cigarette butts
  • use mop or power washer to remove stains
  • wipe signage and wayfinding materials
  • maintain general cleaning with broom and dustpan
  • use paint safe solution or power washer on pillars and columns
  • wipe equipment including gates and card readers
  • empty guest key receptacles and return to management
  • assist guests with directions and inquiries
  • protect guest confidentiality and maintain customer information security
