The role of Parking Garage Attendant at Duke University presents an exciting opportunity to be an integral part of the daily operations that keep the campus and health system running smoothly. This position focuses on providing excellent customer service while ensuring a safe, clean, and efficient parking experience for visitors, students, faculty, and staff. As a Parking Garage Attendant, you will be stationed at various parking locations across the campus and the health system, assisting parkers with their payments, resolving gate-related issues, and responding to general inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.

The attendant serves as a critical point of contact within the parking services team, helping to maintain the integrity and functionality of parking facilities. You will be conducting routine walkthroughs to monitor cleanliness and safety, assisting first-time visitors by providing directions, and reporting operational concerns to leadership to facilitate timely resolutions. This role is ideally suited for individuals who enjoy multitasking, problem-solving, and working independently in an active environment where communication and service excellence are paramount.

Job Qualifications

  • experience working in a high-volume customer service or operational setting preferred
  • familiarity with parking systems, ticketing, or payment platforms preferred

Job Duties

  • Assist parkers with ticketing, payments, gate issues, and general inquiries
  • conduct routine walkthroughs to monitor cleanliness, safety, and facility conditions
  • provide directions and support to first-time parkers and visitors
  • identify and report parking issues or operational concerns to leadership
  • collaborate with maintenance, enforcement, and customer service teams to resolve issues
