The Cashier role at SP+ is integral to maintaining the company’s commitment to creating an efficient, stress-free, and enjoyable experience for every customer. Responsibilities of the Cashier include handling cash transactions accurately, issuing receipts or tickets, providing directions and assistance to customers, resolving complaints promptly, and maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the workspace. The role also entails responsibilities such as verifying shift transaction logs, preparing shift reports, and managing cash banks securely at the beginning and end of shifts.

Job Requirements

  • Less than high school education or up to one month related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Availability to work 2nd shift 3rd shift and/or weekends if required
  • Valid state issued driver’s license with current address and acceptable driving record if driving company vehicle
  • Ability to add subtract multiply and divide whole numbers common fractions and decimals
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions short correspondence and memos
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed instructions
  • Ability to maintain pleasant demeanor when speaking on telephone and with public
  • Ability to respond effectively to customer problems or complaints
  • Ability to sit use hands to finger handle or feel objects tools or controls and reach with hands and arms
  • Specific vision abilities including close vision

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Treat each customer with respect and kindness ensuring each interaction delivers on the SP+ Promise
  • Be present at work every scheduled day on time and in uniform ready to assist customers
  • Count bank of revenue at beginning of shift to ensure starting total is correct
  • Collect cash and/or validations maintaining security of cash
  • Make change and issue receipts or tickets to customer for each transaction
  • Compute or re-compute bill from ticket showing amount due
  • Operate cash register calculate cost or transaction and display cost of customer transaction
  • Quote prices for parking services and give directions assisting customers
  • Complete lost ticket forms when original tickets cannot be located
  • Resolve customer complaints quickly and efficiently asking supervisor for assistance when needed
  • Answer telephone promptly and courteously
  • Maintain cleanliness of booth and pick up trash in surrounding area
  • Conduct timely checks for proper inventory of work aids and supplies in booth
  • Verify log of shift transactions against bank of revenue on hand
  • Compile bank of collected revenue during the day and prepare shift report of transactions
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
