Job Description

OhioHealth is a comprehensive, not-for-profit health system rooted in a belief system that champions wellness and the lifelong partnership between health and expert guidance. Recognized for its commitment to quality care, patient support, and community service, OhioHealth prioritizes well-being as a core value. The health system fosters an environment where employees are encouraged to learn, grow, and develop their careers while making meaningful contributions to community health. With a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency, OhioHealth operates in a manner that values every patient and associates' experience, aiming to inspire hope and empower individuals to achieve healthier lives.

The role of Parking Attendant at OhioHealth is vital as it represents the first and last impression patients have of the facility. This position offers a unique blend of responsibilities including shuttle driving, valet services, and guest assistance. As the initial point of contact often seen by visitors, associates, and patients, the Parking Attendant plays a key role in ensuring a welcoming, efficient, and safe arrival and departure experience. The Parking Attendant will undergo extensive training in shuttle operations and valet procedures to provide exemplary service that aligns with the high standards of this health system.

In the shuttle driving capacity, attendants greet and assist customers, drive safely adhering to traffic laws, complete vehicle-related documentation accurately, and manage the cleanliness and safety of shuttle vehicles. They are also responsible for assisting customers with mobility challenges using appropriate lifting equipment.

Valet attendants perform similar customer service tasks, including greeting customers, assisting them out of vehicles, safely parking vehicles, tracking vehicle locations, and managing valet areas with an emphasis on cleanliness and compliance with hospital property policies. Additionally, valet attendants handle financial transactions related to valet services with accuracy and integrity.

The position demands a high level of safety awareness, professionalism, and attention to detail. Attendants may also be asked to cover other parking service functions such as maintenance or office duties as needed, fostering teamwork and operational efficiency. The role is scheduled for 40 hours per week, primarily during day shifts, and requires a commitment to ongoing learning and engagement within a dynamic, patient-focused healthcare environment.
