Often the initial and final point of contact for patients, visitors, and associates, attendants play a crucial role in ensuring safe, efficient, and courteous parking and shuttle services. This full-time day-shift role involves working approximately 32 hours per week and includes responsibilities in shuttle operation, valet service, and general parking functions. The position requires a close adherence to safety protocols and customer service excellence, as attendants support individuals arriving at the hospital by providing a seamless, reassuring experience.\n\nParking Attendants are trained comprehensively to handle shuttle driving duties—offering friendly greetings, safely transporting customers to their destinations while adhering to traffic laws, and meticulously maintaining shuttle documentation. Additionally, valet attendants ensure vehicles are parked and returned safely, also maintaining the cleanliness and order of entry areas. The attendant's duties extend to monitoring for compliance with smoking restrictions and managing financial transactions related to valet services. This role is especially significant as it aligns with OhioHealth’s approach as a High Reliability Organization, prioritizing safety, quality, and efficiency in every task. Candidates are expected to complete specific driver safety training and demonstrate competency with both automatic and standard transmission vehicles within a stipulated timeframe. Job Requirements

  • no degree or diploma required
  • valid driver’s license
  • driving record with 4 points or less
  • ability to drive standard transmission vehicle
  • completion of driver safety training within 90 days
  • minimum 2 years of customer service experience

Job Duties

  • greet all customers boarding the shuttle, provide friendly, professional service
  • safely drive customers to their destination, keeping in mind their comfort and all applicable traffic laws
  • complete all documentation, log sheets, vehicle checklist, accident reporting, mileage tracking, defect tracking, and report all maintenance concerns
  • use appropriate techniques to assist customers with mobility issues
  • keep shuttles clean
  • follow all driver expectations
  • cover other parking functions as needed
  • greet customers and proactively discover what assistance they need
  • assist customers to desired locations
  • assist customers out of vehicles when necessary
  • safely park vehicles and record any pre-existing damages
  • track all vehicles with valet lot sheet and claim tickets
  • keep entry areas clear and clean
  • monitor valet areas for smokers and enforce policies
  • record and track all financial transactions
  • maintain safety, quality and efficiency in job duties
