The position of Parking Attendant at OhioHealth is a vital role that shapes the initial and final impressions of patients and visitors. This employment opportunity is a part-time or full-time position with scheduled weekly hours around 32, primarily during daytime shifts. The attendant will undergo training in shuttle and valet services, entrusted to manage the safe arrival and departure of associates, visitors, and patients within the hospital premises. This role requires attentive customer interaction, reliable vehicle handling, and an overall commitment to maintaining a clean and orderly parking environment.

Parking attendants perform multiple duties including shuttle driving, valet parking, and guest greeting services, which involve proactive communication and professional assistance. These attendants ensure that all transportation services comply with safety laws and hospital policies, including careful monitoring of vehicle conditions, accurate documentation, and responsiveness to maintenance needs. The ability to assist guests, especially those with mobility challenges, is a significant aspect of the role, which involves handling wheelchairs and supporting customer comfort and safety.

OhioHealth looks for candidates with a valid state driver's license and a clean driving record with 4 points or less, emphasizing safe driving practices. Experience with standard transmission vehicles is preferred, and completion of OhioHealth’s in-house driver training is mandatory within 90 days. While a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, the primary emphasis is on customer service experience and strong interpersonal skills. Job Requirements

  • No degree or diploma required
  • Valid driver’s license from Department of Motor Vehicles
  • Driving record with 4 points or less
  • Ability to drive standard transmission vehicle
  • Customer service experience

Job Duties

  • Greet customers boarding the shuttle in a friendly, professional manner
  • Safely drive customers to their destinations adhering to traffic laws
  • Complete all related documentation including log sheets and vehicle checklists
  • Assist customers with mobility issues using appropriate techniques
  • Maintain cleanliness of shuttles and valet entry areas
  • Park and retrieve customer vehicles safely, recording any pre-existing damages
  • Track vehicles and financial transactions accurately
  • Monitor valet areas for smoking violations and enforce hospital policies
  • Cover other parking functions such as office, shuttle, booth, or maintenance duties as needed
