The Seasonal Valet Parker position is an integral part of the Guest Services - Valet department, reporting directly to the Director of Front Office Operations. This non-exempt, seasonal role runs from May through September, aiming to provide seamless valet and parking services during the hotel’s peak season. The Valet Parker is responsible for welcoming guests warmly, assisting with vehicle parking and retrieval, and offering directions or other guest support related to transportation. A distinctive blend of service expertise and thorough knowledge of Boston’s streets is essential for this role, as the Valet Parker serves as a first and lasting impression of the hotel’s hospitality.
Beyond simply parking vehicles, the Valet Parker is tasked with inspecting each car for damages, communicating parking rates clearly to patrons, and observing all traffic laws and safety protocols to maintain a secure environment. The role demands a professional, courteous demeanor and readiness to support door and bell staff as needed. Exceptional interpersonal skills and a genuine service attitude are crucial for success in this fast-paced environment.
Candidates must hold a valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving record, and prior experience in guest services or valet parking is highly preferred. The ability to drive both automatic and manual transmission vehicles is a plus. This position also calls for strong teamwork, self-motivation, and local area knowledge to assist guests effectively.

Job Requirements
- Required to have and maintain a valid state driver’s license with a current address and an acceptable driving record
- Ability to drive a vehicle with a manual transmission is preferred
- Must have at least (1) or more years of experience, with a combination of previous guest services experience preferred
Job Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to work cohesively with a team
- Must be self-directed, motivated and demonstrate exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate effectively in the English language, both verbally and in writing
- A second language is desirable
- Must be familiar with the local area
Job Duties
- Inspect each vehicle before taking possession and mark tickets of findings, inform customers of valet rate
- Report any known accidents, observed or suspected violations of company policy, safety hazards or any unusual occurrence to the manager
- Have a thorough knowledge of the major streets, landmarks and freeways in the area of the hotel to be able to provide guest and patrons directions to various locations in the area, if needed
- Observe all traffic laws and safe driving practices
- Ensure prompt professional response to all guest requests for service
- Assist and relieve door staff and bell staff as requested and directed
- Open the door for all guests and patrons entering and exiting the hotel
