The Parking Service Valet role at OhioHealth is a part-time position requiring 24 hours of work primarily over weekend shifts, Saturdays and Sundays, from 5:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. This role is essential in enhancing the first and last impressions visitors, patients, and associates receive when they arrive at the hospital. The Parking Attendant performs essential duties including valet parking, shuttle driving, and customer service functions. Trained in valet and shuttle services, attendants provide safe, efficient, and courteous transportation to patients and visitors to their desired destinations, ensuring their comfort and security. The position demands a high level of responsibility for vehicle handling, safety compliance, cleanliness, and communication. The attendant has a critical role in maintaining safe and efficient parking operations and supporting other parking functions as needed. Job Requirements

  • No degree or diploma
  • Valid driver’s license from Department of Motor Vehicles
  • Driving record with 4 points or less
  • Ability to drive standard manual transmission vehicle
  • Minimum of 2 years customer service experience
  • Ability to work weekends during day shifts
  • Must be able to lift and assist customers when required

  • Knowledge of wheelchair lifts and customer assistance techniques

Job Duties

  • Greet all customers boarding the shuttle providing friendly professional service
  • Safely drive customers to their destination ensuring comfort and compliance with traffic laws
  • Complete all documentation including log sheets vehicle checklist accident reporting and mileage tracking
  • Report maintenance concerns and any damage or accidents before shift end
  • Use proper techniques to assist customers with mobility issues including wheel chair lifts and tie-downs
  • Keep shuttles clean and follow all driver expectations such as wait times and shuttle stops
  • Cover other parking functions such as office shuttle booth or maintenance as needed
  • Greet valet customers proactively discovering their assistance needs and helping them find their way
  • Assist customers out of their vehicles if necessary including lifting
  • Safely park and return vehicles after pre-checking for damages and recording them
  • Track all vehicles with valet lot sheets and claim tickets accurately
  • Keep valet entry areas clear and clean monitoring for smoking and ensuring policies are enforced
  • Record financial transactions including receiving payments vouchers and issuing refunds
